When summer started Jason and I planned to create a toy room for Grayson downstairs. We were in the process of doing so when we had to evacuate. Obviously our basement flooded so we decided the toy room was important enough to get rid of our office upstairs and convert that into the toy room! While we had all of the furniture out we got it all painted and decorated in a "Sioux" theme. Grayson absolutely loves it and when he got home today all he could talk about was his toy room. "My toy room." Mommy, come on to my toy room." He is very happy to be home but doesn't like the "big mess" outside. We told him while we were displaced that there was lots of water at our house and we had to get it out before we could go back. Whenever we would ask him how much water there was he would say, "too much water in my house." He is a smart little boy and knows that something wasn't quite right and the garbage on our street is a "big mess" but I am thankful he won't remember it when he grows up. It has been an exhausting, stressful and emotional experience. I think it still will be for quite some time. We are back though and are very thankful!
I took some pictures of Gray's room and toy room back in order.
Grayson's room. We took the changing table out of here and replaced it with a bookshelf that my grandpa Ray gave me on my 2nd birthday. The bookshelf was in the office and since we don't have one of those anymore, Grayson's room seemed like the perfect spot for it! He loved seeing all of his books on it!
